     I was born in beautiful Cape Town in South Africa. I started playing the piano at a very early age. Music has always been my favorite subject and I eagerly participated in Eisteddfods and Art Festivals in South Africa. After living in Namibia most of my elementary school years, I was sent to Stellenbosch, (old university town) to major in music during my high school years. I studied voice as first instrument under Eric Muller and graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Bachelors of Music Education – Major in Music and Math. 

   My plans to further my studies in the Netherlands took a different turn when I decided to teach in Taiwan. I also met my husband, James Diaz, in Taiwan and after working there for 2 years I taught another 3 years in South Korea. I arrived in the Philippines on October 2004 and thoroughly enjoy living here and teaching at IS.
